Guess where I’m headed!

June 19, 2010

I’ll give you a hint: it rhymes with Shmew Shork Shmity.

And it looks a little something like this:

Yep. NYC, baby.

My fabulous roommate offered to take me to Boston and New York with her in July. Of course I obliged. NYC is on my bucket list, dudes. We’ll fly into the city, then take the train to Boston a few days later. Her momma has a convention in Massachusetts, and so while she’s gettin’ her conference on, the roomie and I will be taking Boston by storm!

So here’s my question to you… what’s a vegan to do in Boston and NYC (but especially Boston, seeing as I’ll be spending more time there)? I’ve googled stuff to do, but I’m definitely interested in what you guys have to say! I’m interested in anything vegan or anything funky. Seriously, try me. Shops, parks, restaurants, anything! I’m hoping we will be in the area near One Lucky Duck at some point in NYC, but that’s all I have on my list so far. I know I’m not going to be able to do absolutely everything I want (because it’s their trip, I’m just lucky enough to be tagging along), but I need more things to do so that I can avoid doing work for my online summer course. 😉

Thanks in advance, lovelies!

Congrats!! How exciting 🙂 I used to live about half an hour from NYC and would take the bus to hang out.I wasn’t a health nut back then, so I can’t oofer any advice @ places to eat.
Touristy, but cool is the Empire State Building. I just really enjoy it.

  2. NYC sounds awesome! I went once and ate at this AMAZING place called Josie’s. I am guessing they’d have some vegan options for you!

oooh, wow! NYC = the best! my favorite places to go are babycakes bakery (all vegan, moslty gluten-free), caravan of dreams (all vegan restaurant – i would suggest reservatoins if you can. cooked & raw yummies!!!!), and of course – lula’s sweet apothecary (all vegan ice cream & sweets shop). NYC is so much fun – just walking around is the best! my brother and i like to get lost in SoHo, china town, and the rest of the lower east side. 🙂 you and your roomie are going to have a blast. i’ve never been to Boston before and i can’t wait to see pictures and here all the awesome you two get into. w00t!

  8. Yay, how exciting! I grew up right outside NYC and my favorite city in the US is Boston. Must admit, I am super-jealous. Can’t help you on the vegan front though. But NYC is VERY gluten-free friendly and a lot of gluten-free foods are also vegan.

Gotta second that recommendation for Lula’s Sweet Apothecary- It’s like ice cream heaven! Definitely one of my favorite places in the city.

  10. NYC is on my bucket list as well and I still haven’t been! So jealous! Have fun 🙂
