Hello there, deliciousness.

June 29, 2010

Have you ever heard of Larabars? If not, you should get out of whatever cave you live in, trot down to your local grocer’s, and grab as many different flavors of these suckers in as many flavors as you possibly can.

I say this in complete confidence that just one taste of one will send you over to the dark Larabar loving side. These things are immense. Fabulous. Wonderful. They are, without a doubt, the best bar out there on the market.

A blurry peanut butter cookie explosion!

LΓ„RABAR firmly believes that the foundation of a sound mind, body and spirit is derived from what you eat. And what you eat is healthiest and most satisfying when it’s in a whole, natural state.” (from larabar.com)

Well, you know what I believe? I believe in a thing called love that I could eat these things for every meal and not get sick of them. From Banana Bread (my favorite!) to Key Lime Pie to Cocoa Mole to their fabulous new Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavors… I’m in love.

The best thing about these bars is that the company really sticks to their word. There’s no added sugar, refined grains, artificial colors or flavors, preservatives, or unpronounceable ingredients. In fact, the ingredients list for Peanut Butter Cookie? Peanuts, dates, and a smidgen of salt.

Simplicity at its finest.

Of course, the main factor for me is the taste. Something that’s gluten, dairy, soy, and GMO free as well as being vegan and kosher? Usually bars like that are bland. Well the Peanut Butter Cookie hits you like BAM, baby! (In the words of Emeril Lagasse, apparently?)

I should have picked a more appropriate background.

The only word I can use to describe the taste of these bars…. EPICyumtasticamazingfabuloustastydeliciousness. Packed full of vitamins, minerals, good-for-you fats, some protein, and carbs, this was fabulous post-workout fuel.

What happened when I told my mum I would need a few snackypoos for my upcoming trip to NYC and Boston.

If my fabulous mother hasn’t bought the entire country’s stock of Larabars, go out and buy some! But then again, if she has, they are so good that I can’t really apologize.

If buying thirty bars at a time is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

I love Larabars! Peanut butter cookie is one of my favs, too! I also love the pistachio cookie πŸ™‚ And you’re right, they’re probably the best bar option out there. Even Kashi and Clif bars have some questionable ingredients in them.

  3. I may or may not have had days where Larabars and apples were all I ate! πŸ˜‰
    I hear there’s a cookie dough flavor now………must.find.soon.

I almost bought a larabar today but decided I could wait until I got home to eat one of Averie’s cookie dough balls – I can’t believe I’ve never tried one. It might be because I love the crunch factor which larabars don’t seem to have. I will try one though.. .just for you. πŸ™‚

  8. Becky Says:

I must say, I am also a huge fan of the Larabar! I love the simple ingredients that combine to create such a wonderful flavor and texture. I also keep of few of these on hand for on-the-go snacking!

I haven’t tried Larabars but I did just buy 10 Cliff bars at the store because they were on sale. haha.

I love Larabars! I think my new favorite is Peanut Butter Cookie. It seriously tastes like a cookie! I actually prefer the plain chocolate Jocalat bar the best, though…oh, but if they combined chocolate and peanut butter! I would die of sheer bliss, methinks.

My mom doesn’t do moderation, either. “I like apples.” And she comes home with ten pounds, just for me. Or, “I could go for some chili right now,” and lo and behold, a huge pot of chili for just me and her. It’s rubbed off on me, too, seeing as I saw 77 cent Larabars at the grocery store and plan to buy them out next time I go — if they’re still there! Bwahaha. >D

  11. I guess I gotta crawl outta my cave… πŸ˜‰

I’ve seen them everywhere, but have yet to try one! Next time I’m out and see one, I’ll grab it!

  13. I completely live off of Larabars. They are my religious pre-workout snack. I love how simple the ingredients they are, but they are still so darn good! The cherry pie is my favorite.

In my country, and I guess in the whole Europe, Lara bars can’t be found 😦 But a lovely blogger send me two bars, and I absolutely adore them!
I wish I could have them all the time though πŸ˜€

  18. I stopped eating bars of any kind a while ago because I just got so tired of trying to figure out which ones were “healthy.” But these sound great, and I’ve heard similar reviews. Need to try ’em!

  19. BitterSweet Says:

Oh you just wait- I like Larabars too, and I tried their newest flavors at the Fancy Foods Show in NYC the other day… They’re even MORE amazing than the others, in my opinion! The chocolate chip cookie dough is to DIE for. Oh, you’ve gotta try them!
